National Service Animal Eye Exam

ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam Event Celebrates its 10th Anniversary!

The ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam Event celebrated ten years of providing sight-saving eye screening to Service and Working Animals in 2017. This year's event saw nearly 7,500 animals seen by a record-breaking 300 veterinary ophthalmologists! Our ophthalmologists selflessly donate their time and resources every year to make this program run.

We want to extend a very special thank you to Stokes Pharmacy for generously being the name-sake sponsor of this event. Stokes works in partnership with our ophthalmologists and sponsorship team year after year to help provide our Service and Working Animal friends with sight-saving screenings. Among our other valued sponsors are Animal Necessity, An-Vision, Eye Care for Animals, OptiGen and Welch Allyn.

The ACVO/StokesRX Service Animal Program has been nominated for the NAVC VIC Award!

The ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam program is one of four non-profit programs being recognized by the new NAVC VIC awards (Veterinary Innovation Council’s Innovation Awards). This program has been nominated in the Innovation Award category and was selected from 116 initial nominations.  The VIC awards are "positioned to become an annual program, designed to recognize people and organizations who have dedicated themselves to the betterment of the animal health industry through innovations that make a difference in the lives of animals everywhere." Learn more about VIC.

This is a fantastic opportunity for ACVO's ophthalmologists, specialty medicine, sponsors and others behind the great works of our Service Animal buddies, to gain more recognition and reach throughout the US.

About

Registration will open April, 2018

Registration will open April, 2018.

The ACVO/StokesRx National Service Animal Eye Exam is a philanthropic event that provides free, ocular screening eye exams to qualified Service & Working Animals each May. These exams are provided by those members of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists who choose to participate and volunteer their time and resources. The program benefits formally trained working animals who selflessly care for us all. Registration is open April 1-30th annually.

This program would not be successful without the generosity of our board certified ACVO Diplomates who donate their time, staff and services. The financial support of our generous name-sake sponsor, Stokes Pharmacy, has made promotion of the event possible. We so appreciate their support and that of our many other sponsors and non-profit supporters! We would also like to thank all the folks that have allowed us to use their amazing photos and stories on our website and press releases. Please see a full list of credits and 'shout outs' here.
